Volcano-Damien Rice
一个年过三十的作家，高产，每天都能写出很漂亮的文字，那些文字能啃噬人的心脏。起起落落，懊恨悔丧，斑驳破碎，仿佛能从中看见他自己历尽血与黑暗的虚弱灵魂。世界本五彩斑斓，只不过美好与繁丑同驻。他选择将丑恶斥予笔尖。
别人赞誉他的灵气和文字。从不缺乏灵感，因为它们来自痛苦彷徨的曾经。那么久的曾经，他痛苦。他美丽的笔尖是痛苦的孩子。
直到他遇到了他的妻子。
才是个20岁的孩子，金发，爱笑，夏天穿吊带衫，赤脚在沙滩上走来走去。阳光喜欢落在她脸上，阴影不喜欢。
她填补了他，至少刚开始时是的。那时候他们都快乐，他的忧郁融化在她笑容的温度里。
但她不是药，她还太年轻，没有办法将那股子热情化作热巧克力喂养他病了的灵魂。她如依旧小女孩般轻声轻气地嗓音里不再是笑意，而是一种冷漠的悲伤——就像他一样。两个寻找彼此灵魂的缝隙的人互相询问，“这是你需要的吗？”亲吻，“这样足够了吗？”
他们唱着和着，反复交织着那优美的剖白。“我们不相等，对你而言我是虚幻，你不再需要着我。”“你给了我一座又一座山，可我只想要一片海。”
白天，他们不再正视对方；夜晚，他们相背而眠，把身体缩成在子宫里的模样。歌唱，轻声细语；呼吸，呼吸。
悲伤的人没有太大力气，直到火山将他们熔化。

Damien的Volcano听过好几个版本，初听是看了一个有关电影《猛于炮火》（Louder Than Bombs）的剪辑，BGM用的是Volcano的纯器乐版本。一开始就被它与影片契合的独特气质迷住了，现代另类的节奏，带几分古典色彩的大提琴，牵着旋律在疯狂与平静边缘游离。我最爱的是这个Live版本，bassline更加粗重些，但乐器和声部分又较原曲更加清新，可能是用原声代替了电声的缘故。但仍是建议将其与Alternative版本同时食用。此外还推荐Phillip Phillips的翻唱版本。
